Every day, more blind people are using VoiceOver, Apple's Screen Reader with iOS and OS X. This includes such devices as the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPod Nano 6Th Generation and the iPad. While others are using the Mac Pro, iMac, MacBooks and MacBookAir. When using VO, the gestures used are different than those for those not using VO. Additionally, Because many blind people also use keyboards as well as the Touch Screen or the Multitouch Track Pad on OS X devices. I thought it's probably a good idea to bring another more specific group in to being just for working with VoiceOver related questions and problems. In other words, this list is not for discussing all kinds of features, likes and dislikes and all that kind of stuff. Here, the concern is specifically using VoiceOver on these different devices. With a true willingness to help each other with Questions and How-To items. As long as it's specific to VoiceOver. For example, "When using VoiceOver, how do I continuously read a document in iBooks?" Not, "How do I take a picture with my back facing camera?" If this list becomes problematic, or if there are any other problems, I will first switch to Moderated mode, then I will have to close this list if things don't work out. Just so as it's all up front. So, "Here's hoping to being able help others!" All that I ask is that we are all respectful to each other. Under no circumstances will I tolerate any form of abuse toward anyone on this list.
Natural Born Hikers
Salt Assault Festival is a D.I.Y. festival that promotes safe and sustainable voyaging by sea. Since 2012 a group of young sailors have been converging in Rio Dulce Guatemala bi-annually to share skills, dialog topical concerns, and celebrate our successes and shortcomings alike. As word spreads about these free D.I.T. meetups we are finding a growing need for a platform that supports open discussion. The meetups have formally been known simply as the "Rio Dulce Boat Punk Meetups", but in an effort to establish a more structured environment that can be made to function in other ports we have introduced Salt Assault ( saltassaultfest.org ) an info site focused on providing the when and where of the next meetup. Past meetup pre-discussions have been done via bcc list or social media sites where after the event happens all dialogue is arrested. We are looking to establish a platform that enables the talk to continue as well as include the growing number of friends whom have chosen to permanently detach themselves from social media sites. We have three goals in a mailing list. 1. To connect people attending the festival so that they may establish safe alternative travel plans. 2. To build a community of motivated individuals who share a common interest in alternative sailing projects. 3. To facilitate festival workshops by organizing people who do not know each other but can work together in providing experience and material that is in line with the general interests and networking goals of this meetup.
Taifun 17E Motorglider Enthusiasts
Forum to discuss and exchange information and experiences relating to the Valentin Taifun 17E. The Taifun has 2 side-by-side seats, a 17m (56 ft) wingspan, retractable gear, flaps and spoilers. It has a nose-mounted Limbach motor of either 80hp or 90hp (a retrofit 105hp Limbach or 100hp Rotax are available), driving a feathering prop. Factory specifications show a cruising speed of 111 kts, a best glide of 29:1 at 60 kts and a thermaling speed of 49-52 kts. Although the Taifun is no longer in production, parts are available from Korff in Germany, which has the type certificate. The person to ask for is Cornelia Korff +49 157 880 30 217. This is a replacement for the Yahoo group "taifun17e".

Be Nice. This shouldn't be an issue since its just an RBA but no Spam, hate speech, vulgarity, etc. Just be a good person, everyone should be able to enjoy chasing rare birds. 2. Please only report rare birds. For more general birding discussion try the umich birders server (link will be here eventually). Use your best judgement as to what qualifies as rare, but avoid minor rarities. Don’t worry too much though, we would rather it be reported than people miss an opportunity to chase they’d like!
Cedar Fire Memorial Steering Group
Steering group for Lakeside, CA Cedar Fire Group. This group is established in collaboration with the Lakeside, California Fire Department and the Heartland Fire District. The intent is to design and approve an architectural design for emplacement on the grounds of the Lakeside Fire Department in recognition of the contribution and sacrifices they and others made during the Cedar Fire of October 2003.
