Hi,
From reading posts to this topic O2 seems to have been covered so I'll try my best with 3.

You can call 444 and this will let you check your balance, top up, buy add-ons such as texts or minutes bundles or check price plan information, like the latest prices. TV and Internet add-ons must be purchased through My 3 but I'm guessing the thinking behind this is you'd need to go online for the TV or access websites anyway so it'd be easier to buy them online. You don't get a text after every call or text like with O2 but you can call and check your balance easy enough, dial 444 and press option 1.

If you go with 3 pay as you go then you can get what they call a stretch, also purchasable through 444. You get a bundle to share between calls or texts however you want at 100 for £12, 300 for £15, 500 for £18 or 700 for £21. All stretches also come with 300 calls to other 3 mobiles on top of you allowance, which is probably why they sell a 100 bundle for £12. If you just top up and don't apply a stretch calls and texts are 12p. Its worth knowing before hand that there is a minimum charge of 12p per call.

Hi all,

I'm getting there ...

I've had the opportunity to purchase a sim free phone from a friend unexpectedly so now it's the tarif. (I'll tell you what I've bought once the deal is clinched!)

I definitely am going to go for a contract with 02 or the 3 Network, or I may try Pay As You Go with both first.

Could those of you on the networks chosen let me know the following, please:

If I just go for Pay as You Go, how do I know when to top up and then do it? Would I get cut off in calls, or caught out?

In addition, any useful numbers you can give when using a mobile with either of these networks would be a good head start.

Please write privately if you can to save cluttering the list.

Thanks for this additional help. It really is a help! <Smiles>

Please note I am very shortly changing my email address to

carol.pearson29@xxxxxxxxx

so please use that address for personal replies to ensure I get them.

Thanks.
