Strange one, this!

You could check which view is set and select "Normal" to be safe.  Also try
the "GO TO" command and/or CTRL+End to see if you could get things moving.
When you start in XL, you see things where they were last left.  I wonder,
therefore, if perhaps the sheet has been left somewhere in the Header or
Footer.  There are also Protection limits which may have been placed on the
file.
