Please report back Brian. It would be good to know whether or not you shared
Dave's experience.

  Hi David
Thanks for letting me know. I'll give it a try and see what happens.

    Brian

As far as I can recall, the instructions were on one sheet of paper. I did
have sighted assistance, but we just could not figure it out at all. You have
to put in a code number which in theory connected it to the make of machine you
wished to use it with, but on the four devices I tried I had no luck at all.

I do not share your technical prowess Brian and you may well do much better
than I did.

    David

      Hi David
When you say the instructions were complicated in terms of setting it up
at least, do you mean that they were in a printed booklet or do you get the
instructions in a .pdf file? I am hoping that if I can get my Support Worker to
set it up for me at the very least, then the rest should come naturally, so it
would still be good to hear whether or not anyone has had success with the unit
as and when it is set up to work with various devices.

      Thanks.

        Brian

I could not get on with it at all. Upon receiving it, I inserted the
batteries and it asked me to set the time, which I managed to do. But that was
about all I managed. the instructions are extremely complicated and I could
not get it to recognise any of the four items of equipment I tried to match to
it. The buttons on the remote itself are fairly well spaced out, being mainly
in rows of four, probably about twelve or more rows, so around fifty buttons.
When I pushed them it would not talk to me at all. I ended up returning it for
a refund. I know of three other visually impaired people who tried it and they
all returned their product.

The voice itself, when I could get it to talk to me, was a fairly clear
female synthetic voice. can't remember whether it was American or english.

Maybe you would have more luck than I did with this product. Not
recommended.

        David

          Hi
Has anyone please had any experience with the 7 in 1 Remote Control?
I went to the web site of the manufacturers today, which wasn't the
most accessible I have seen, but I managed eventually to get a broad overview
of what the product had to offer. Obviously the unit would need to be
customised to the units you have, but have people managed to get this working
and speaking items relating to televisions, video recorders, hifi systems, etc.

          Thanks a lot.
