Thanks Mike, Have made a start on the tutes, and what I've seen so far looks
pretty accessible and sensible. Certainly nice to have a menu interface
rather than the annoying ribbons - which I confess I haven't completely
mastered in the way that I had with earlier versions of Office. .

I can't speak for Jaws as I use NVDA.
And I have not used MS Office in a professional capacity since Office 2000.
But, the guy doing the tutorials, although he focuses on LibreOffice, he
emphasises that a lot of what he talks about early on is conceptual and
relevant to whatever you are using, be it LibreOffice, Corel or MS Office.
A lot of folks never use templates, which is a big mistake because it is
such a boost to productivity and quality of presentation.
What I will say about LibreOffice, focussing on Windows, is it is absolutely
great. I cannot fault it at all. There are some accessibility quirks which
I am quite happy to share off-list if you like. If you install it, and I
would recommend ignoring Apache OpenOffice from now on, and get to using it
I hope we can share both ways.
And the tutorials on HPR, done by a guy that calls himself 'Ahuka' are
first-class.
