Hi Barry,

When you first get the phone, you will have to set it up with ITunes and
create an account on ITunes.
Once this is done and the phone is working, on the left hand side of the
ITunes window there is a 'tree view' of music, playlists etc. On this 'tree
view' your phone will be listed under Devices.

Once your phone is highlighted under Devices, you should be able to tab to
the right hand pane of the window and then tab around the various buttons
and check boxes.

One of the buttons is labelled Configure Universal Access, select this.

A dialogue box appears with a radio button which allows you to select Voice
Over, Zoom or neither. Select Voice Over and tab to or click on the OK
button.

Voice Over should now be activated on the IPhone.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [access-uk] Activating speech on I-Phone

Hi all

I realise that this one will probably have been covered in the past but, you
know how it is when you have no interest in a subject, you just delete it
without reading. Well, I have ordered the I-Phone 4 and it comes today, so
I'll need to know how to turn the speech on.

Thanks for your patience, guys.

Cheers

Barry
