Carol,

You don't need a pin centry device all the time just for the set up of the app!
You can get an audio pin centry device too from your Barcklay's!

And, in the app itself it works with a pin code!

Having read both these reviews, I'm now thinking I'd probably prefer
Pingit as I don't want a PINsentry device.

Ambro, can you remember what you had to do to sign up with Pingit, please?

If the payee is a Barclays online banking then sending them a payment
using Pingit is as easy as selecting their name from your contacts,
add the amount to send and then press confirm. I use Pingit to
transfer money from my account to our joint account most of the time
as it’s even quicker than using mobile banking for this kind of
transaction. Other things that you can do with Pingit are: quickly
make a donation to an organisation, purchase Lottery tickets, make a
payment using a barcode etc. I haven’t used all of Pingit features but
I’d say it is definitely worth checking it out. Re the mobile app, it
is essential IMHO, least for the Mobile PINsentry.

Thanks for that. Think I'll look at the mobile app, thanks.

Carol,
With the mobile app, you can do almost all of the things that you
could do
with online banking, e.g. view your accounts, pay someone or bill,
transfer
money, send money, etc etc, in fact, I cannot remember the last time
I used
the online banking. However, with the PINGIT app, I believe you
could send
mony or pay someone direct with their phone number, this I could not
get my
head round and stopped using it.

Thank you

Thanks Ali.

OK, so what can you do with each? Trying to decide whether I need
both or
not ...

Hi all,

Has anyone used either of these apps recently and can tell me,
please, just how VI friendly they really are these days. I tried a
good while back to use the Pingit app and didn't do so in the end as
there were quite a lot of difficulties with the app in the early days,
but I'm hopeful that maybe these have now been overcome and that I
might
use one or both of these.
Any comments would be most welcome. Thanks!
