M3u isn't, or shouldn't be, an audio file. It usually acts like a ram
file whereby it points at the media file so you can stream it. It's
usually a tiny file, around 1k, with just a URL in it.=20

I tried to open the file in notepad, however your suggestion did not
work, however, I have tried converting the files in Goldwave and this
has actually worked so that I can now play them and they have MP3
extentions.
