Can' you use the option in cd ex, "Extract a portion of the cd"?

This can be found under the Convert menu.

By default it's set to extract from file 1 to file x. X being the last file.

This will auto extract the section into one file.

Yeah does anyone know if there is a tool which will convert a spoken word CD
to a single mp3 file, without splitting it into tracks or running it through
an analogue recording system?

This might seem like a daft question but will cd ex convert cda files to
mp3? I know I've done all sorts of music cd's without any probs but
have some spoken word stuff which is .cda format and can't find this
format listed on the cdex website...or perhaps I'm just being thick this
morning!!
