Hi, My own recommendation would be the Plextalk. As Ray said its the PTR2 now but I've been using its predecessor the PTR1 for over 2 years now to record newspaper articles for my MPhil research.

It supports standard MP3 recording at different bit rates, but also fully supports DAISY recording so you can use various levels of headings. I've used this feature to separate newspaper articles from one paper.

All the keystrokes result in voice output so its fully usable and if your a TB customer you can play Talking books on it too.

It is quite expensive but I've never regreted buying it.

Subject: [access-uk] Digital Recording Equipment

Hi All

My husband is looking for a good quality digital recorder that will be suitable for recording in a classroom situation. Firstly, can anyone recommend any good quality, accessible equipment for visually impaired people? Secondly, does anyone know of any exhibitions taking place where he could look at digital recording equipment?

Thanks.
