This might come as a surprise, but few computers in the general user price range have any degree of intelligence. The same applies to the software. When Duxbury is installing, it will look for Word installations, but after that, it doesn't waste time and resources looking for new software any more than JAWS, HAL etc goes looking to see if Windows 8 has been released yet, and then rewriting itself to adapt to the hitherto unknown operating system!!
