Hi all. Is there a setting in Excel 2000 that can be changed to prevent it altering the contents of cells when opening a csv file please? I have files I create in notepad which list times and mixes of gas for diving. It will take 0130 and drop the first 0 so it now becomes 130 and is no longer recognisable as a time. Another is the gas blend written as 10/50. For this it will assume it is a date and replace the cell contents with Oct 50. I am getting increasingly frustrated with this as when you save the csv file from Excel it also saves the changes it has decided to make. Any ideas gratefully accepted!
