[access-uk] Extra 1571 service

I thought that while on the thread of 1471 ring back etc, I wondered whether
people knew of an additional 1571 service that is available from BT.

You can have BT text your mobile number if someone calls your landline while
you are either on the phone, or out, provided the person leaves a message on
your BT 1571 service. It only costs you the 10p standard text that goes to
your mobile phone. When you get that text message from BT, it tells you to
ring home and intercept the BT answer 1571 message by pressing star. When you
do that, you can hear the message that has been left for you on your landline
phone. I think this is a really useful service. If I'm out and someone rings
me at home, I simply get the BT text message on my mobile, ring my landline
number and press star while the greeting message is being read out. I listen
to who has called me, then do what I need to do about the call. It's also
handy if you are on the phone at home and you get a text message on your
mobile, so you know someone has tried to call you and left a message on 1571.

If anyone is interested, you need to call 0800 3895660. You have to nominate
the mobile number you want to be texted when you cannot access your 1571
service on the landline. It's easy and cheaper than some of the other services
that BT charge you for quarterly that I personally don't use anyway.

If anyone wants to sign up for this service, which only costs the 10P BT
charges to send you a text message, call
