I agree, I was offered a demonstration of Braille Sense on-hand, if I
travelled to London. I live in Cornwall and never did make the trip.

Thanks Jackie.  I am going to do a great deal of reading and thinking.  
It seems a pity there isn't a place you can trial expensive machines for a
couple of weeks when you are spending so much money, but I guess the
maintenance on the items would be far too great.
