Hello chaps,
If it's helpful, here's the Google websearch function from WebbIE
ripped out and made into a standalone program. Super-simple: loads,
puts you in a text area. Type your search and press return. Wait a few
seconds, you're put into a list of results from Google. Cursor up and
down. Press return to open a result in your default web browser (i.e.
not WebbIE). Press return on Next to go to the next page.
It's not got an installer yet, so if you don't have .Net 4.0 Client it
won't work (you almost certainly will, though!) and not tested on
anything other than my machine.

As per my previous email though, the "next" link is not a heading.
It's actually heading level 3 for the results links. That is easy but once
you get to the last one you have to cursor through manually to find the
"next" link and compared to a PC app experiance it's a pain.
Does anyone use a desktop PC application for searching?

Google is easy. Just go to the next heading level 2 when you search. In
JAWS, just press the number 2. In Window-Eyes, just press H2.

Because the "next" link is not a heading and there doesn't seem to be any
consistancy in the headings immediately above or below the "next" link I
find it a lot more hit and miss navigating google with headings than using
Webbie.
I end up cursoring up or down line by line looking for the "next" link.
I was hoping some of the group might have found other search engines there
more really quick and easy to navigate in this respect.
Unless there are short cut keys here that I haven't come across yet.

I’m guessing most of us are using Google. You can use heading navigation to
get to each search result so seems easy enough to get around the page.

Hi group,
I still use Webbie for my web searches. I fire up the PC application, type
in the search string and it gives me a simple list of one line results that
I can hit enter on to go to the website.
More and more websites are failing to work with Webbie and I end up copy and
pasting the URLs from Webbie to firefox as often as not.
Can I ask if anyone has a similar PC desktop application or has a favorite
search engine that through use of heading navigation allows a fast
no-nonsense search experience please?
