Use scandisk to scan the disc for errors. press ctrl and e, then arrow to
the drive, then press applications key and choose properties, then the tools
tab, then hit check now, then the start button. You might get a, windows
can't check the disc for errors while in use, message. Hit yes, and then
restart the pc, the restart will take longer, as scandisk is doing its job
while windows is unloaded from memory.

Subject: [access-uk] File already in use

I have a couple of documents I’d like to get rid of but everytime I try to
delete them I get a message saying

“File already in use”.

This message comes up despite there being no other programmes or files open.
Any suggestions as to how I might delete them?
