And actually for the longest time, I think they had an expiration
policy of I think six months on accounts. That to me is reasonable
as it helps keep their data base up to date.
you do not need to join any chat sessions but just lock into the site
to keep your account current.
I am sure they will he happy to reauthorize your account and login
data when you contact them.

I registered for FTP what seems like agers back and only used it a
couple of times, not for a long while. Today I tried to login but
couldn't and my E-mail address, which I am totally positive is the
right one, isn't recognised. Have they implemented an expiry policy,
maybe if you don't login once every 8 months or so?
