Actually, during the brief spin I gave Thunder, I was , among others, able to use it with Winamp, Media Player Classic, CD-Ex, AVG and much to my delight also the free Bible software program bibleseeker. I need to learn the keyboard and navigation commands to get fuller use out of it but the first impression was rather promising for a freebie.

One problem I encountered with Thunder was that sometimes the keys, especially the alt keys, got stuck and also affected jaws when I restarted it and only a reboot cleared this up. I am hoping for a support list or forum for Thunder to help clear up some of these problems.

I don't expect Thunder to replace winees or jaws or hal or whatever other expensive access solutions people use but i hope it will open the world of computers and the internet to some who so far were unable to use those.

Cheers,

Doris

Subject: [access-uk] Free Screenreader Is There already

The other day you guys told me about an upcoming free
widnows screenreader. Apparently it is hatched already and
can be downloaded from

www.screenreader.net

the webpage doesn't give too much information but has the
manual and a hotkey reference for download.

I have not yet tried Thunder myself as I hope to find out if
it installs a video hook or relies on msaa only.

I hope this is really a working solution that can get people
started with computers.

Cheers,

Doris
