Thanks ted. I have tried various possibilities in the Preferences
but keep getting the error message. For example if I set it to start
at Freedom boxc log on the error message appears immediately after
the confirmation that I am logged in.

I suspect that I must have got a corrupted download of the installer.
Using a dial up connection it takes over 2 hours and I had to resume
once which might account for my problem.
