BlindCoolTech podcast
I've just found a page at Freedom Scientific that deals with GPS and Daisy for the PACMate. Go to:-
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_news/PressRoom/en/2005/nr_StreetTalk-FSReader-6-30-2005.asp

Other places where you might find people talking about their own experience of the PACMAte and GPS are...

http://feeds.feedburner.com/blindcooltech
This is the feed URL that you paste into Juice or other podcatcher program. Several episodes deal with Pacmates and several deal with navigation with GPS but without listening to several podcasts I couldn't say whether they're dealt with together in any one cast. Search the BlindcoolTech.com website archives for more info. For that go to:-

http://www.blindcooltech.com/archive.htm

Blind Access Journal
http://blindAccessJournal.com/

Darrell, who produces the Blind Access Journal, uses a PACMate, and may well have described using it with a GPS solution.

That's about as much as I can tell you, but come back if it doesn't solve your problem.

Vince.

Hello Vince

Could you enlarge upon
Derek, yes it has been done, and I'm sure I've heard a podcast about it
BlindCoolTech and Blind Access Journal.

What are they and how would I subscribe or whatever.

Thanks

Derek, yes it has been done, and I'm sure I've heard a podcast about it either on BlindCoolTech or Blind Access Journal. The name Street-Talk comes to mind, though I don't know whether that's just software owr something more.
Vincce.

Hi All
Is it possible to use GPS receiver with a pacmate in Braille mode?
I was thinking this set-up could be useful for some Deafblind people.
For example when on a train and want to check which station have we stopped
at now!
Regards,
Derek
