I was the one who posted this on another list. What I forgot to say though, is that of course you are charged what ever the rate is for an 0844 number in addition to the 1p per minute.

The second one, cleverates, I do know a little about.

They are a new service and are trying to grab customer attention by charging
a penny a minute for landline calls to mobiles. Its more than likely that
this rate will be very short-lived and may well be gone by the new year!

You dial a 0844 number from your landline, wait for the prompt and then call
the mobile number, remembering to dial 00447890 instead of the usual 07890.
Before anyone queries this, 07890 is only an example!

No need to register with anyone, the one penny per minute charge just goes
onto your existing phone bill.

Darran

business

|I don't know about anyone else here, but my head spins when I try to
understand the seemingly endless opportunities to save money on phone calls.
I've come across two interesting sites that a few of you might care to look
at.
|
| The first is of general interest and gives, for me, a good overview of the
various methods and carriers when using VOIP and computer or hardware
options. This article is at - and sorry for the long link:

|
| The second site to catch my interest was prompted by a message to TAFN
earlier today about cheap landline to mobile calls and it seems to involve a
complicated process whereby you use a carrier based in another country to
call a UK line, and actually involves using the UK International code as
part of the process. See if you can understand it by going to:

|
| Well, at least that link is more managable!
|
| Any comments on-list or to me personally welcome.
