James,
Have you tried to reinstall Jaws video intercept after windows update?
What you can also do is first install the latest video drivers and
then with the help of narrator
reinstall jaws.

Hope this helps

Subject: [access-uk] Grrr! JAWS is up to its old tricks again.

Hi all,

OK, so if you saw my earlier message, you'll know that I recently reinstalled
XP Home on my Samsung NC10 netbook. This was because JAWS was refusing to read
anything, and I was having the same problems that Ibrahim reported a few days
ago. Well, I reinstalled Windows, and all was working fine. I used Windows
Update to get the latest updates for the machine, and then rebooted, and what
do you know, JAWS is back to its old tricks again, no selected item, blank, and
what not. I'm at the end of my tether with this now! Maybe I should just get a
new netbook LOL
