Hello Mark,

Although I've not used HSBC, all the ones I've used have an option
view the statement on-screen rather than PDF.

However, if that's not possible, a workaround for the solution may be
to shift-click the link.

If that doesn't work, they have a helpdesk phone number:
        
"For advice on how to use our Internet Banking service or specific
transaction enquiries please telephone our Helpdesk on 0845 600 2290
(overseas +44 1226 261226). Lines are open from 8am to 10pm every
day."

Actually, I'd call the "from overseas" number 01226 261226 as you
avoid 0845 charges and usually get through quicker :)
