I would personally go for the following,
7I which gives allot more speed than most laptops, secondly the
amount of ram you have would help it work faster the more the better, if
you download allot of stuff then I would look for about 1 terra bite
hard drive, make sure it can do both wireless and cable connection, have a
built in Mic, head phone socket, built in cd writer and dvd player
machine, I find personally one of the better ones is Toshiba, also make
sure you get one with full size qwerty keyboard a card reader is
sometimes good also. of course the longer battery
life you get the better, there is some out there with up to six hours
battery life, but I find they soon drop in value meaning length of time
they last for. hope this is of some help. Andy S

I have never bought a laptop before, so no practically nothing about them.
So if someone could tell me what sort of thing I should be looking for, and how many hours you can get out of the battery, before they need recharging.
And I will also be changing to a wireless connection so that I can use it
anywhere in the house. I would be extremely grateful for any advice you can
give me.
