Cheers amro,
I'll do a full scan now first and then revert to Google
but feel as you do that it's no great threat, at least MSE appears to be doing it's job, LOL!

Hi Tony,

I think that there is no danger what so ever in using Google for your homepage. Google is my homepage and I haven’t seen any warning messages about it. I use ESET Smart Security.

Sorry I can’t comment on the malicious software message you had for sure, but I’d guess some piece of adware tried to change your homepage, and MSE removed the offender software and reset your homepage to the default, which is MSN.

I’d revert back to Google if it is the homepage you prefer.

Subject: [access-uk] Home Page Changed

Hi Folk,
Not a major problem I trust but yesterday my home page changed without
my doing anything.
There was a Microsoft Security Essentials message to the effect that it
found potentially malicious software and removed it and MSE changed my
home page from Google to MSN.
Wondering if there are any others with this problem and what do folk think.
Is there a problem then with Google I wonder particularly as a home page.
I'd prefer Google as a home page if at all possible.

Best,

Tony Sweeney
