Hi Mike.

I guess you have to buy something that meets the IPod GPS specification.
Unfortunately since I neither own an IPod nor had the opportunity to try out
one of these so called GPS products for it, I couldn’t comment any further I’m
afraid. The Bluetooth implementation chosen by Apple is not as open and all
encompassing as say Nokia, many of the Bluetooth profiles have been disabled,
for example Bluetooth printing, file transfer etc..

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

I have a 747 A+ GPS trip recorder which I have tried to link to my iPod Touch
without success; I guess you have to buy a specific Apple product.

Thanks for your help,

Best wishes,

Mike

Hi Mike.

The IPhone does not support the connection of external GPS receivers, the
internal one is the only one available I believe. There are several external
GPS products for the IPod, but whether these can be used with the IPhone I
don't know.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Jeff and Ibrahim,

Can iPhone be bluetoothed to an external GPS receiver, or is iPhone’s internal
GPS sufficiently effective.

Thanks for help,

Mike

Hi Jeff.

Yes you can run multiple Bluetooth devices concurrently, however so long as
they aren’t sharing the same Bluetooth profiles. For instance, you could
connect a headset or stereo headphones to your IPod along with a Braille
display or keyboard because they use different Bluetooth profiles, but you
couldn’t operate a pair of speakers and headset at the same time via Bluetooth
because they’re both audio devices. I hope this answers your question.

All the best, Ibrahim.

is it possible to link more than one device to the IPOD and run then
simultaneously?

I am think thinking of a Braille input and headphones.

Jeff
