Hello Shane,

This seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. It's difficult to tell whether it will fit into a laptop case or not, but this is not the most important consideration. The reviews seem to be positive on the whole, so I've decided to order one and give it a go.

Thanks for all your help.

Caroline.

Hi Caroline

Below, you will find a link to the laptop cooler which, I believe, is the best of those I possess. I think there are 5 altogether, but they only vary in colour.

Hello Shane,

Thank you for your message.

I would be interested to know the models of laptop coolers you have tried
and which you find particularly good. A variable fan does sound as if it
would be a good idea as you could presumably alter the speed of the fan
depending on the temperature in the room at the time.

I'd also like to know approximately how large these coolers are and whether
they're the kind of size which could conveniently fit into a laptop case.
Something of that size would be ideal.

Thanks,

Caroline.

Hi caroline

I have 3 different laptop coolers and would definitely recommend that you
purchase one fitted with a variable speed fan. If you require specific
details, feel free to contact me off list.

Cheers

Shane

Hello,

This is perhaps a little off topic, but as a lot of people on the list use laptops, I thought someone might have some information they could pass on.

My laptop seems to be running rather hot in this warm weather, especially
if I sit in a chair with it on my lap for any length of time, so I've been
looking at the various devices available to help reduce the temperature.
There seem to be several different kinds, ranging from pads which contain
gel or granules, to trays equipped with fans which connect to a USB port
on the laptop. These devices also seem to be known by a number of
different names, from laptop trays to notebook coolers, so they're not the
easiest thing to track down and compare on line.

I've never used any of these devices, so would appreciate it if anyone
could pass on any comments, good or bad, about how effective they are.
Someone did mention Antec Coolermaster to me, but hadn't actually tried
one out so was unable to comment on how good they are.

Thanks,

Caroline.
