It's ok to install. This message means just that the author didn't pay the
big money to microsoft for certificate. The same message shows when I install
nero virtual drives, but I press continue and all is ok.
By the way, what brand is the drive?

    Hi all -

A friend has just bought an external hard drive for his XP machine, which
is formatted NTFS, and when he tries to install it, he gets the message:

The software you are installing for this hardware USB Mass Storage Device
has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Window XP.
Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the
correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft
strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contct the hardware
vendor for softwear that has passed Windows Logo testing.

Is this an issue, or is it still ok to install?

    Andy
