That sounds very interesting. I'd be certainly interested in the note taking possibility.

Hello list,

There has been some discussion about internet radios, and I thought I'd tell you about what I have been doing today....

On Saturday morning I received a Raspberry Pi in the post. For those who don't know, this is a credit-card sized Linux computer. I say Linux but it can run other operating systems.

Anyway...to cut a long story short, today I have created an internet radio from it. I wrote some code to get the radio station URLs, put them in a database, and, with a web server installed on the Pi I created an intranet page from which I can select which station I want to listen to.

I am currently streaming Radio 4 Extra while I type on my Windows machine.

I am going to get hold of a cheap wifi dongle, and bung the whole lot into a small plastic box with some push buttons on, write some code to detect the button presses and change stations.

Next project, another plastic box with six push buttons on it and code inside to make the Raspi into a Braille note-taker for under 50 quid.

Oh and I wrote the odd letter today too.

Mike
