Hi Mohammed,

You could try a book called "Getting Started with the iPhone" by Anna Dresner
and Dean Martineau.

You can get it from the RNIB in Braille or on Daisy CD, but I would consider
getting it from the National Braille Press for two reasons. Firstly, you can
download it in Word or another format immediately after purchase. Secondly,
they have the second edition which looks at IOS5. When I looked on the RNIB
site, it wasn't clear that the version on sale was the second edition.

There is a variety of free podcasts and other materials if you don't want to
buy a book.

In order to get to touch typing, turn the rotor until you hear 'typing mode'.
Then flick up with one finger until you hear 'touch typing'.

For the scrub gesture, move two fingers quicly to the right, left and back
right again.

Hope that helps answer some of your questions.

Cheers,

Ed

Subject: [access-uk] Itunes / Iphone questions

Hi,

I'm using Itunes with JAWS and finding it quite difficult to use. I've
installed the blindtunes scripts but I had to get some sighted help to help
me setup the Iphone on my PC.
Is there a tutorial or guide on using Itunes with JAWS that explains how to
sync contacts and how to backup your phone? Also, how to copy content on and
off the phone.
I have managed to copy my contacts onto my phone but in future, I want to
always sync one way, from my PC to my phone. I noticed there is an option under
advanced in Itunes that you can tick to do this but it seems like I have to
disable automatic sync and tick this checkbox every time I want to copy my
contacts from Outlook into the Iphone.

I am also trying to find an all in one tutorial for using the Iphone written
from the point of a blind user. Is there such a tutorial?

I know it is possible to make it so when you're typing a text message in the
Iphone using the on screen keyboard, you can make it so it will input the last
character your finger was on as soon as you lift it off the screen. How do I
enable this?

and I can't work out how to do the scrub gesture for Voice Over to go back /
cancel?

Many thanks for your help,
