Debbie.
I think the crucial point here is,
is the calendar local to the computer you are using or a shared calendar.

If it's local then JAWS 7.1 shouldn't have any trouble, however if it's 
sharedd, i.e living somewhere else but the data accessed by your computer 
this may explaine the trouble you are having.
