This is an annoyance for me also. Problems with inaccurate copying of text from web pages has been around for me for the last couple of versions of Jaws and they really should have sorted basics like this out. The only workaround I know if you want to accurately copy direct from the web page is to use an alternative screenreader like NVDA to perform these copying tasks, it normally works fine.

The other workaround is to select all the web page and then copy and paste it into Word as plain text. jaws will have no problem accurately copying and pasting the relevant text from Word if you do this.

Maybe you should also send an email to support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so that they know I am not the only person complaining of this.

Hi guys
Am using Word 2010 with jaws 16 demo and the latest IE.
My problem is that, when I select and copy stuff off a web page into
MS Word that I'd like to read, it basically becomes nonsense. Jaws
says something like graphic and link and none of the real text and
things I've selected, copied and paste are there, but I don't actually
know what's there instead either, just something senseless.
Thanks
