Hi lists,

Using JAWS 13 Word 2003 XP Home

When I select a block of textto be moved or deleted in Word
by using Shift and PGDN I am able to select that first block
without any problem and JAWS says "XXXX characters selected
up to ...".

However if I want to select any further text in the same way
(Shift+PgDn) I get the Bong sound and nothing else is
selected. If I try to use the Shift and Down arrow there is
a long pause of about 5 seconds before JAWS announces that
the line of text is selected, and so on...

This never happened when using an earlier version of JAWS, I
could highlight any number of pages of text within a
document without any problem.

I know it points to a JAWS rather than a Word problem but
has anyone come across this problem.

I noticed a similar problem yesterday when filling in a form
on an Internet page. It took JAWS several seconds to
announce a single digit number I had entered on a form.
With all the details I had to fill in it took me about 10
minutes to complete the task, whereas in the past I would
have done it within about 3 minutes.

JAWS at fault or a processing hitch?
