Hi Paul,

This message looks blank to me.

All the best

Steve

Steve, I, with my very out-dated Fortae Agent, WindowsXP Home, Jaws 10 and
Kompak laptop of 2008 vintage, read Paul Benson's post, I reproduce it below
as, in the thread, nobody came back on your post nor directly addressed Paul
Benson's concerns.

Incidentally, I am now getting to grips with a new pc, W7 64-bit premium and
Jaws14 and I.E 11 along with latest FF.

Hello Steve and all,

Windows 7, Guide 6.30, IE8.

Between the quotes is what the Guide, Save page, option captures:

"
Web Page - www.thebrownsplace.info.

"

No text, no links, no forms.
Previous postings to this list indicate IE8 as a problem. I am rather stuck
with IE8, I have Hal 11 for the rare occasions I am forced to venture into
the murky depths of Windows. Hal 11 was not written with IE9 around, it was
a nightmare for me, when the wretched IE9 and further updates kept insisting
against my will that they install, it needed regression to IE8 to regain
sanity.

Hal 11 and IE8 produce the same as above, no text, no links.

I also have a much newer laptop, HP Pavilion, purchased October 2013. It has
Windows 8.0, Guide 7.01, IE version unknown.

The result with the HP is the same as above, no text, no links, no forms.

There must be someone on the list with Guide 9, could they give feedback, to
assist in finding if there is also a problem with Guide in general?

Paul Benson.

Hi Mark,

Yes, it should cope with just about anything. But we need more info from
the people who can't access it.

All the best

Steve

Hi Brendan, Jackie et al.

Even though it's not at all recommended to be using such an out-of-date
browser these days, from the very quick look I've had at the source code
there are measures put in place for older browsers. The site appears to be
using HTML5 (the latest standard), but a few scripts are deployed to render
the page of sorts in browsers such as IE8 , which don't support it. I hope
I've interpreted this correctly anyway!

Mark
