I've come to this thread a bit late and I don't know where your list box is. Sometimes, there are such lists on Web pages which do exactly what you describe. In those circumstances, you should try opening the list with alt down arrow and then use the Jaws cursor to go down the list since this will not have the effect of selecting the item which Jaws is reading. You then use the simulated mouse click to make your selection.

Note that in a long list, you will need to find the scroll down control and click this with the Jaws cursor in order to display subsequent items.

hi. yes but my point is, if you press alt down arrow before you arrow around, it should not just select the first option and go to it. it should allow you to keep arrowing around until you get the one you want and then you can press enter on it to activate it.

hi. when you press enter on the combox box to go in to it, press alt down arrow and that'll open up the list and allow you to arrow through and press enter on your desired option.

all the best,

Mo.

How do you choose the correct option with jaws 14 and windows 7?
