Hello,

I'm writing on behalf of a friend who is very new to computers.

His computer was supplied with Kaspersky 8.0. Until very recently, all was
well. However, he went to check his e-mail in Outlook Express yesterday,
only to be prompted by Kaspersky advising he had 25 e-mails. From what he
described, a box came up with a list of the e-mails with checkboxes next to
each message. There were options to delete messages, or read text. Double
clicking on any message did nothing, but when he just pressed Enter, 6 out
of the 25 messages were moved into the inbox, but not the others.
Subsequent attempts to close and then re-open Outlook Express did not
present the Kaspersky dialog box.

He's using Windows XP. I've only ever played with Kaspersky for about an
hour some time back, before I removed it as I didn't like it. But would
anyone else who uses this know if this sounds familiar, what the problem is
and how to rectify it? There were no warnings about any viruses, and the
Kaspersky status window in the main program said that everything was fine.
The e-mails are from a variety of senders, so the possibility of there being
a virus in all of them just cannot be true.

Any help much appreciated as always.
