George, as she's using a Toshiba, she will have Record Now as her CD burning
package. Not sure if I can help her check the CPU, as she's not as geeky as
me <smiles>, but thanks for the suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Does she have Nero on it by any chance?

Hi all,
I'm posting on behalf of a friend whose computer is sluggish
to the point
that it's slow enough to do anything, even checking e-mails
on her wireless
connection. She suspects it's a computer virus, and I
advised that she keeps
an eye on it for now. The thing is, though, she has AVG 7.5
Free with the
latest updates, and therefore I would be surprised if she's
picked up a
virus that AVG failed to detect as so far she's not had any
since using the
product. What advice can you give, apart from keep an eye on
it? She's using
a Toshiba laptop running Windows XP Home SP2 with all
updates, and JAWS 8.
This has only happened today. Thanks in advance for the
help.
