I hate to disagree, Kevin, but sad to say the print dialog
is not always the same, be it Word or anything else.

For example, with our Lexmark, Brother, Canon and Epson,
there is an additional "properties" button, which brings up
a dialog specific to that printer. This contains things
like "Type of Paper", single or double-sided, etc.

Also, many printers these days, especially ink-jets, have a
status dialog which pops up to tell you if you have no ink
for example. If that's silent, you are left wondering
what's going on, when perhaps all you need to do is change
an ink cartridge.

H.P. are just as bad, but I can no longer afford their
multi-colour ink cartridges, so we ditched our last one
recently.

George.

hi andrew, suppose it depends on what you mean by "works
well with jaws". in
programs such as MS word, for example, the print dialogue is
the same
whatever the printer. installation of drivers from
accompanying CD is pretty
standard too. are you meaning any software that you may get
with a printer?

Hi Andrew

I don't know the answer to your question but I had a message
yesterday from
Ebuyer advertising a laser printer for =A349.99 if you're
interested. A Google
for Ebuyer will give the address.

Roger

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
