Imagine Facebook for professionals. Instead of friends, you have connections 
who tend to be people you've worked with across your career. It's also 
increasingly used in recruitment.

You can invite people to connect and these are a bit like Facebook friend 
requests. These will appear to emanate from Linked In. Cheers,
