No, you can't use that direct link to download each week. However, there are two distinct podcasts: http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/archers - which is daily. And http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/archersomni Which is the weekly omnibus. In both cases, there is a link to the xml - if you really, really don't want it to automatically download to a certain folder each week via a podcatcher, then simply bookmark the following page: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/radio4/archersomni/rss.xml When you browse to that page, you'll see the download link without any of the clutter.
