Hi, I think in other countries they can use both I heart and Pandora but not as yet in the UK! I find radio player less choppy than tune in for UK stations. The problem I am having is getting tune in to play stations from other countries, it may be that it is just my post-christmas diction or my glaswegian accent but for the life of me I can't get it to play my chosen stations from austrailia, is there a particular way of phrasing the play command for non-UK stations? I should add that they stream ok on other devices.

BEST

Alistair

I like it as well just thought Jacky said I player was a skill that I
could now use.   must have got it wrong again!   Sorry Jacky.

I tried that too and it seems the only radio app available apart from TuneIn is RadioPlayer which does pretty much the same job. However, I do like the dot as an internet radio device.

I asked alexa to enable the eye player radio app, she said she couldn't find that app.

Subject: [access-uk] MORE DOT QUESTIONS

Thanks to all for previously helpful tips. Here are some more questions.

1. I have checked a number of options in the flash briefings list in the app on my phone including Sky News, Radio 4 World Service and The guardian. When I ask Alexa for the news she automatically plays Sky News. How do I get her to play latest news from Radio 4? When I’ve asked she’s played the r4 live stream from tune-in. Sky News seems to be the default briefing, followed by any of the others you have ticked.

2. If I want news from the guardian how do i get her to give me that? Say: "Alexa, open the Guardian." You will get a welcome message, then follow the choices she offers you.

3. Are any of these services chargeable? for instance I notice that this full audio of The Economist but I assume you need a subscription? Similarly the Wall Street Journal is, I know, subject to a pay wall. The Guardian isn't subscription-based, not sure about any of the other newspapers.

4. How do I add things like the iPlayer or iPlayer Radio app? You can go into Skills and add those that way, or ask her to activate the various skills for you. Say: "Alexa, activate RadioPlayer." Similarly, you can ask her to turn on Bluetooth so you can pair it with your phone.

thanks again for any help.
