Colin, try Insert-Q for Quit. Caps Lock instead of Insert if you use Caps 
Lock as your NVDA key. Or go to the Run dialog, then enter NVDA -Q.

All the keystrokes are in a file on the help menu called Keyboard Command 
Quick Reference. To go there, press Insert-N for the NVDA menu, then H, then

K.
