Peter, no need to do that. Just arrow onto one of the files, press f2, then arrow through the name. Alternatively you could press alt and enter to get into properties and tab till you hear the file name, and arrow to the file extention, the letters that come after the full stop. If there are a number of different file extentions we can just deal with them one at a time. I've been trying to think of audio file types that neither wmp or real player are able to play, and other than for flac I can't offhand think of any. If it turns out that it's just a matter of installing the correct codec once I know the file extentions I can find the right codecs.

                         John.

Hi Peter, on that screen there's an option to open folder to view files. Choose that option and the files will be displayed. Highlight one of the files, press f2 and see what the file extention is. Incidentally, do you know if these are audio or video files?
                   John.

Hi Peter, can windows see it, or is the problem that the files won't play. If windows can see it and you get the popup message when you insert the DVD and can open to view files what is the file extention of the files?
                   John.

I received a DVD in the post this morning from a friend and can't get it to play. I tried both windows media player and real player to no effect. A friend told me to install VLc media player which is an open source program but still no joy.
