You only authenticate with most pop3 system when logging onto the POP3
server. SMTP does not not usually require authentication. Can you send a
message to yourself and recieve it?

Subject: [access-uk] Pop before SMTP

Hi All

Does anyone know how to make Outlook Express do a Pop authentication before
attempting to send e-mail? If I connect to my mail server with messages in
my outbox it tries to send them before receiving the messages that are there
and so I get an error - or at least I think this is what is causing the
problem!

Thanks

James
