Before you try and recalibrate two printers, I wonder if you should check
something else first.
The symptoms you describe mimic exactly what happens if your are using a
sheet of labels which have the physical dimensions of A4 paper size, but one
of the three parts of the software you use to print the labels is set to US
letter size. This has happened to me and it took me a very long time to work
out what was happening.
The three areas to look at are:
First your printer setup within windows. Look in start/settings/control
panel/printers for your printer and press enter. Somewhere in here you will
find what paper size your printer is set to. It will either be A4 or US
letter size. Make sure it is set to A4.
Next look at the paper setup in word. Do this from file/page setup in the
label document you are printing. The first tab is margins and the next is
paper, which you can get to by using control+tab. Check that the paper size
is set to A4.
Finally, when you select the label sheet from within word, make sure that
you are selecting from Avery A4//A5 sheet size, tab until you get the
details button and press the spacebar. This brings up the physical
dimensions of the label and sheet. Tab until you hear 'paper size' and check
that this is set to A4. this is probably what is causing the problem, but
I've added the other possible causes so that you will feel confident that if
all of these are set to A4, then the problem is indeed one of calibration .
I hope this helps, and if so will you let the list know as this has cropped
up from time to time with others on this list.

Hi All
I'm using sheets of labels with 2 across and 7 down - exactly the same
as the L7163 set-up in Word. My top labels on each side end up in the right
place, but as I go further down the page, the text that should start at the
top of the label gradually comes further up on the previous label.
I haven't altered any of the settings, and know I've managed to print
labels perfectly well before using this set-up.
Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong?
Any help gratefully received.
