Hi, Agreed. Austin, I'm happy to help as I'm an It Pro, but perhaps you might be best joining some Beta groups or lists like Blind Sys Admins? You'r eobviously trying post-release, and moreover still beta software as you are enthusiastic about emerging technologies. This list is a hit and miss for getting Power user questions answered. Most JAWS issues you will experience in Win 8 as Larry says are basically the way it is, until most likely Win 8 is released, and if it happens before it'll probably be as an accident. If you really want to sink your teeth in, I'd grab NVDA and feedback into the NVDA Developers. You'll most likely get a better response. Regards, Barry. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of LaMcAs Sent: 20 February 2012 20:12 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Problem with jaws on win8 Jaws DOES NOT WORK with Windows 8 as has been mentions numerous times before Austin. HJ will NOT be releasing a Windows 8 version until the new release is definite, and this has been reported openly by various people. You keep forgetting you are running the preview of W8 which is primarily for DEVELOPERS and other people use it at their own risk and at this point in time NO SOFTWARE is guaranteed to work with W8 and certainly any problems you come across are unlikely to be resolvable by members of this list as we do not write the software. Austin you obviously don't have much technical nouse so why don't you just leave W8 until you can learn to overcome the problems you are having, which will not be overcome until software vendor release W8 version of their software. This isn't the first time you have asked from program specific help on W8 which for some reason you seem to think everyone knows the answer - no one will until software is released that specifically says "Windows 8 Compatible" or something similar. If you insist on playing with Windows 8 then I'm afraid just like all those other people in the same situation you will keep coming up against problems. Even after the W8 release at the end of the month will not guarantee any program working with it, it just means W8 is at a stage where MS think it is ready for the public to run it and see how they get on with it, and hopefully feedback to MS and other software vendors their findings.
