Ray,
You can make Winamp simple. Just hit Alt F while in Winamp. Uncheck playlist
editor, Equalizer, media library, and video. You will have a very basic
Winamp after doing this.
Basically you hide all the bells and whistles.

I'm confused here, but that's not a novel experience!

Reading the title in Winamp isn't a problem. The original problem was the
Infosound file stopping or cutting out before the end of the file.
Whether this is a Winamp problem or not I don't know; it could equally be
the way the file has been stored, or is being streamed.

My disatisfaction with Winamp is more around it being too clever by half for
me! I get narked at finding the way to disable this going and hunting for
CD data every time a new CD trackis being played.
Then there is the general complexity now around setting the thing up and the
different output modules and trying to sus how to get the volume control in
Winamp itself to operate.

A pointer to a clear tutorial would be quite good, but from what I've heard
of Foobar it might suit my needs better for something that's more of a
straightforward player than something trying to be a lot more.

Cheers,

From Ray

I know you are a jaws user where both Ray and myself are window-eyes users.
The key combination for reading the title bar in window-eyes by default is
control shift t.
