Oh thanks people, sounds like there are a few options then.  The main
reason I'm wanting to either upgrade qwitter or get something else is
because with this particular beta I'm using I can't send direct
messages.  Also with Qwitter not having an actual window on the screen
bugs me as I want the option to be able to do things by going into
menus or tabbing around rather than just keystrokes - I sometimes
forget the keystrokes, some of them are difficult for me with my
single handed keyboard and even if I reassign them it is difficult to
find keystrokes which don't conflict with other things and which I can
remember.

Will give these other options a look as well.
