Hi Ian,

Stay where you are - it's a busy road anyway! Smile!

Go to Tools, Options, and select the "General Tab". Uncheck
"Allow starting in Reading Layout", which is at the top.

You might also want to look at some of the other options
while you are there.

George.

Subject: [access-uk] READING LAY-OUT IN MS WORD

Following my recent migration to a new version of MS
Office, I've just opened a word document. Word has very
helpfully (Not!) displayed it in something called "Reading
Lay-Out" which claims to enable me to be able to review the
document more effectively. Except, of course, it has done
the exact opposite because it's designed for people who read
b y sight and not via JFW. Anyone tell me what I need to do
to turn the damn thing off please? It's the equivalent of
being taken across a road you didn't want to cross. I wish
they wouldn't be so helpful! GRRRRRRR!

        Ian
