Hello Martin and Steve,
I had one of these beasties. If I remember correctly, the battery cover is
just below the speaker grille. You move the spring catch towards you and the
cover comes off. It's a standard PP3 battery which powers the unit.
Carefully remove it and take off the connector. Connect a new battery and
replace it in the device and snap on the cover.
